Artist: Jack Thurston Important Added Info: Note that almost every one-sheet for this movie that we have previously sold has had a large corrective credits snipe over the top left tagline area. This was because that long tagline contained the sentence "Filmed in Giant Panamation". A knowledgeable collector tells us that "Panamation" was simply another name for Harryhausen's Super-Dynamation process. However, it is likely copyright issues with Panavision caused the studio to issue the snipe. For several years, we thought that EVERY one-sheet had this tagline (some would have a snipe, and some might not, since of course, the snipe could be removed). But in the last few years, we have seen several examples of an entirely different one-sheet, which looks the same as the above, but the top tagline area at left has the word "COLOR" instead of "GIANT PANAMATION". This poster has the same NSS number and information as all the others, so obviously the studio, in addition to putting snipes on posters, also printed up a new poster with the corrected tagline, but did not bother to note it in any way on front or back (for instance, stamping "REVISED", as was sometimes done). We have only seen this one-sheet a few times before! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. It had pinholes, tears, and paper loss in the corners.
