Important Added Info: Note that this is a wonderful special presskit! Why? Because it was prepared and sent prior to the release of the movie in May of 1977. We know this because it has the first version of the Star Wars logo on the cover, which was used on the earliest promotional material, but was never used once the movie opened. It contains 21 stills, but more importantly, it contains 2 supplements, 3 pages each, both from Bob Dingilian, Director of National Publicity at Fox. One says "The future should look used" and gives much information about the local filming of the movie. The other says "George Lucas brings his space fantasy to life", and it describes George Lucas' inspiration and vision for Star Wars, including, of course, how it came from his love of movie serials and comic books, and that he wanted "an action movie in outer space", "characters with ray guns, running around in space ships and shooting at each other". It mentions that he co-owns a gallery bookstore in New York City which deals in newspaper strips, original art, and comic related books (which was called "Supersnipe")! This presskit was consigned to us from a man who worked for 20th Century-Fox at the time this movie was released, and he had two examples of this wonderful presskit. We auctioned the other one in August of 2014, and it sold for $470, and now we are auctioning his only other example. Note that we have taken a picture of the cover of the presskit and ALL of the stills. We have noted that the presskit contains 2 supplements, but we only picture the front page of one of them (see our images). Condition: very good. The stills and supplements are in excellent condition. The covers of the presskit have scuffs on it. Learn More about condition grades
