An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Before I Hang, the 1940 Nick Grinde science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Chill-filled, thrill-jammed tale of a monster!"; "Karloff's search for the secret of youth leaves a trail of lifeless victims!"; "Karloff kills... to turn time backward!"; about a scientist imprisoned for a mercy killing who creates a rejuvenation serum in prison that has the odd side effect of making the user a sort of Jekyll & Hyde type of monster!) starring Boris Karloff, Evelyn Keyes (in one of her first starring roles!), Bruce Bennett, Edward Van Sloan, Ben Taggart, and Don Beddoe NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 1940 first release half-sheet! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has tiny paper loss at the crossfold and some tiny creases and a few tiny bits of surface paper loss on the folds. It has pinholes and some faint stains around the edges with tiny paper loss at the left and right ends of the horizontal fold. It has many lighter water stains on the back, but the only ones that show through to the front of the image are in Karloff's nose and cheek (see our image). While this incredibly rare poster has the above defects, certainly a talented restorer can reverse them during the paperbacking process (and some or all of the staining can likely be removed chemically), and after proper restoration this poster will display really well, but bear the above in mind before bidding on it.
