An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]) (Learn More)

Zane Grey's Riders of the Purple Sage, the 1931 Hamilton MacFadden cowboy western revenge melodrama (based on the novel by Zane Grey; about a Texas Ranger whose sister and niece are kidnapped, and he spends the entire movie trying to find them and punish the man who kidnapped them; at the climax, he finds the man, kills him, and runs off with his sister and niece to a secret hidden place) starring George O'Brien, Marguerite Churchill, Noah Beery Sr., Yvonne Pelletier, James Todd, and Stanley Fields. Note that this was considered Zane Grey's greatest novel. It had been previously filmed in 1918, and 1925, and was filmed again in 1941 with Robert Montgomery!

Important Added Info: Note that first release 1931 movie posters from this Zane Grey movie are incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single poster from this movie (only lobby cards and stills) until we received this window card! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded.

Condition: good. The poster had paper loss in the top center that affected the "E" of "ZANE". It had tears in the "ID" of "RIDERS". Someone glued three pieces of cardboard to the back of those three areas to reinforce them. There are also some water stains, tears, and paper loss around the edges. The poster needs to be restored, but after it is, it will look fantastic!
