An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Here Come the Girls, the 1953 Claude Binyon romantic musical comedy (about an entertainer who accidentally gets involved with an escaped killer) starring Bob Hope, Tony Martin, Arlene Dahl, Rosemary Clooney, Millard Mitchell, William Demarest, Fred Clark, Robert Strauss, The Most Beautiful Show Girls in the World, and Steve Calvert (in an uncredited role as the man in the gorilla suit). Note that in 1948, Steve Calvert bought Ray 'Crash' Corrigan's gorilla costume, which Corrigan had been using in movies since at least 1932. He appeared in 12 movies between 1948 and 1958 as a gorilla wearing Corrigan's costume!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny creases and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds, with pinholes around the edges and small paper loss in the left blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
