An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/4" x 10 1/4" [21 x 26 cm]) (Learn More) Famous Monsters of Filmland was a horror film magazine from 1958 to 1983 (and revived in 1993 and 2008). It was published by Jim Warren and edited by Forrest J. Ackerman, and was the introduction to classic monster movies for a huge number of collectors and fans, including many who went on to become famous names in the movie business! Each issue had full-color covers and heavily illustrated black & white stories inside. The magazine was so popular that multiple conventions have taken place, featuring Forrest J. Ackerman and famous guests! Important Added Info: Note that in 2008, the publishers of Famous Monsters re-issued the first issue, with an exact recreation, and they sold it in a plastic bag with a button that was stapled inside of a paper attached to the top of the plastic bag. This is an exact recreation of the first issue, published in 2008, and is NOT an actual first issue from 1958! Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue.
