Date Sold 5/3/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Swedish Stolpe (referred to by some as a "Swedish insert") Movie Poster (measures 13 1/4" x 27 1/2" [34 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) Munkbrogreven (released in the U.S. as "The Count of the Old Town"), the 1935 Edvin Adolphson & Sigurd Wallen Swedish romantic comedy (about an odd little town where there are a lot of eccentric characters, all of whom are in search of romance, but they can't find the right connection, and two of the people are known as "The Count" and "The Cucumber", which gives you an idea of how eccentric they are; into this mix is a series of robberies, and then a stranger appears, who is unemployed, but always has money to buy things, and the people think he might be responsible for the robberies, and he is busy romancing a beautiful teen girl!) starring Valdemar Dalquist, Edvin Adophson, Ingrid Bergman, Sigurd Wallen, and Tollie Zellman. Note that 19 year old Ingrid Bergman had previously had an uncredited role as "girl waiting in line" (which gives you a sense of how small that role was!), but she was not only credited in this movie, but she also had a significant part as the object of the mysterious stranger's affection, and she was even pictured on the posters! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: As noted above, this was Ingrid Bergman's first real part, and she is not only third billed in the movie, but she is also pictured on the poster! We have never auctioned ANYTHING from this movie before, from any country, or from any release. Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Swedish movie. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine. The poster was tri-folded and was lightly partially folded across the middle. It has a very tiny tear in the top fold and a tiny tear in the upper left blank border, with a tiny scuff in the top right background area. Otherwise, the poster is in really nice condition!
