An Original 1956 (from the first release of this movie in Spain) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Spanish Movie Poster (measures 28" x 39 1/2" [71 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) No Highway (released in the U.S. as "No Highway in the Sky", but also released in the U.S. under its original English title), the 1951 Henry Koster English airplane aviation disaster thriller ("Nevil Shute's great novel"; "Based on the novel by Nevil Shute"; "Screen play by R.C. Sherriff, Oscar Millard & Alec Coppel") starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), Marlene Dietrich, Glynis Johns, Jack Hawkins, Janette Scott, Elizabeth Allen, Ronald Squire, Jill Clifford, and a lot of uncredited actors, including Kenneth More, who played the co-pilot of the plane that crashed! Note that Janette Scott is best remembered for her starring role in "Day of the Triffids" in 1963, which was immortalized in the lyrics of the song from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" that says "And I really got hot When I saw Janette Scott fight a triffid that spits poison and kills." She divorced her first husband and married Mel Torme in 1966, which pretty much ended her career, as she quickly had two children. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Spanish poster! Also note that we previously auctioned a different Spanish poster from this movie that has a different image and a different distributor. The other one noted "16mm" on it, so we suspect that poster was for the 16mm release of this movie and that this poster was for the 35mm release. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a tear at the top center that had tape on the back of it, and it bled through somewhat in that area, going into Stewart's head. Otherwise, it had minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
