An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) White Pongo, the 1945 Sam Newfield albino gorilla horror adventure thriller ("A beast with human instincts!..roamed the jungle!";"Jungle monsters battle to the death as a woman watches in horror"; "Junge monsters battle to the death as a woman watches in terror!") starring Richard Fraser, Maris Wrixon, Gordon Richads, Al Eben, Lionel Royce, Michael Dyne, George Lloyd, and Ray 'Crash' Corrigan (in the title role as White Pongo). Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had many small tears and tiny areas of paper loss down the vertical foldline. There were creases and a few tears on the horizontal foldlines. There were pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
