A 1976 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Japanese Movie Poster (measures 20" x 28 1/2") (Learn More) the theatrical release of Duel, the 1971 Steven Spielberg made-for-TV trucker crime action thriller ("The most bizarre murder weapon ever used!"; "The killer's weapon a 40 ton truck! The victim's only defense a startling trap!") starring Dennis Weaver, Jacqueline Scott, Eddie Firestone, Lou Frizzell, Gene Dynarski, and Lucille Benson. Note that this film was released theatrically (and with a longer running time) outside of the U.S. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this film was first released theatrically in Japan in 1972 and distributed by Universal and CIC. After the success of Jaws, the movie was re-released in Japan in 1976 with a new Japanese dubbing, and it was distributed by Universal and Shochiku. Posters for the 1976 re-release look very similar to the first release posters, except they mention Jaws and "Japanese version", and have the Shochiku logo next to the Universal logo. The poster offered here is from the 1976 re-release. Condition: very good. This poster was paperbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about paperbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).
