An Original Vintage Unfolded World War I Military Recruitment Poster (measures 30" x 40") (Learn More) Tell That to the Marines!, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) recruitment poster ("Huns kill women and children!") encouraging men to join the Marine Corps , and featuring James Montgomery Flagg art of an angry businessman throwing off his hat and jacket after reading the newspaper headline! Note that the U.S. Marine Corps was founded in 1775 as the "fighting branch" of the U.S. Navy. Most people think of the Marines are a completely separate branch of the military, but actually, they are still closely tied to the Navy (although many Marines don't like to think about that)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: James Montgomery Flagg Condition: good to very good. There is a semi-circular water stain in the bottom border and scattered creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss in the blank borders, but the image area is in nice condition, and after a simple linenbacking by a talented professional (which would only involve restoration in the blank background areas), the poster will look great!
