Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of the folds. It had paper loss and tears in the top center, in the blank area. It had pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame. After the poster was backed, it was slightly roughly handled, and because there was no excess linen, there are small creases down the right blank border.
