Alfred Hitchcock is perhaps the most famous English director of all-time, directing many groundbreaking and classic movies from 1921 to 1976. He would often appear briefly in his own movies as a gag. Some of his movies include: Rear Window (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), North By Northwest, Psycho (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Vertigo, Strangers on a Train, Notorious, Rebecca (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Shadow of a Doubt, The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, The Birds, Dial M for Murder, Lifeboat (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Spellbound, The Man Who Knew Too Much (he made this one TWICE!), The Trouble with Harry, and many, many more! He passed away in 1980 at the age of 80. Note that the items in this lot are mostly from the 1940s to the 1960s. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them. Note that there is something REALLY unusual about these pressbooks! The owner of them REALLY wanted to protect them, so he removed the staples from the spine and then had every page individually laminated, and then afterwards reassembled the pressbook! IN THE CASE OF THESE PRESSBOOKS, THREE OF THEM HAVE ONE OR MORE CUTS. PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THEM UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THIS UNUSUAL QUALITY ABOUT THEM. We have a total of 14 bulk lots of laminated pressbooks, and that is all that this collector had, so we will never have these again. But this is a great opportunity to get these pressbooks in bulk lots (had they been not laminated, many of them would have been auctioned individually, some for very high amounts). Condition: fair to good, 3 WITH CUTS. Three of the pressbooks (Rear Window, The Birds, and Psycho) have one or more cuts from interior pages. THE OTHER NINE PRESSBOOKS ARE COMPLETE AND UNCUT.
