An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) On Time, the 1924 Henry Lehrman movie-making romantic fantasy comedy ("A riot of thrills"; a really bizarre movie about a man who can't marry his girlfriend because he is a failure, but he gets offered a job that pays him $10,000 in a single day, but only if he does whatever they ask him to do, and he gets involved in one bizarre situation after another, including being with a doctor who says he will transplant the man's brain into a gorilla's body, and also multiple fights, but then he discovers that it was actually a test by a movie studio to see if he can be an action star, and he passes the test, gets the $10,000, and wins his girlfriend's hand!) starring Richard Talmadge, Billie Dove, Stuart Holmes, George Siegmann, and Tom Wilson (a large white man who specialized in playing black roles in the early silent days when studios were reluctant to hire African Americans; he would put burnt cork on his face and skin!; he appeared in The Kid, but not in a black role). Note that Richard Talmadge was born "Sylvester Alphonse Metz", and he was an acrobat with the Barnum and Bailey Circus. He got a job in Hollywood as a stuntman for Douglas Fairbanks Sr., and then graduated to starring in movies, always performing lots of stunts. He had two acrobat brothers, Otto Metzetti and Victor Metz, who appeared with him in some of his movies. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the top left inset photo shows a man in great gorilla makeup! If anyone knows who played the gorilla, or more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
