And I mean it!'"; "There never was a women like Gilda!") starring Rita Hayworth (in the title role "as Gilda"), Glenn Ford, George Macready, Joseph Calleia, Steven Geray, Joe Sawyer, Ludwig Donath, Robert Scott, and Gerald Mohr. Note that the sheath dress that Rita Hayworth wears in the movie (designed by Jean Louis) certainly contributed greatly to the popularity of this movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. The poster had a few tiny creases and scuffs on very small parts of some foldlines, and a few almost invisible scuffs in the solid black areas. Overall the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. It was well backed and displays fantastically. Note that I have seen two other examples of this poster in person, and this example is definitely the best of the three! I have also examined the online photos at other auction sites, and I feel confident this example is superior to those. Not only is this poster virtually defect free, but importantly, it also does NOT have a defect that I have observed in the other examples, which is paper loss at the top crossfold, which falls in the cigarette (the other two examples I have seen had paper loss there, and the restoration in that area was somewhat noticeable). THIS EXAMPLE HAS ZERO PAPER LOSS AT ANY OF THE CROSSFOLDS! Note that this very example of this poster was originally purchased by our consignor in a Butterfield's auction many years ago, where it was graded "near mint to mint"! Given that this is one of the most desired movie posters there is, I am already envious of the final high bidder on this poster, because they will have one of the most extraordinary movie posters ever created displayed on their wall!
