An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Bush Leaguer, the 1927 Howard Bretherton silent baseball sports romantic inventor screwball comedy ("From the story by Charles Gordon Saxton"; a wacky story of a small town inventor who creates a better gas pump, but he is also a star baseball pitcher, and the Los Angeles baseball team signs him to a contract, and he accepts so he can pay for his invention to be marketed, but he gets terrible stage fright, but at the end, he returns and hits the winning home run!) starring Monte Blue, Clyde Cook, Leila Hyams, William Demarest and Richard Tucker. Note that the 1932 Joe E. Brown movie, "Fireman Save My Child" "borrowed" the entire plot of this movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we know nothing about this movie, but it would seem highly likely it dealt with baseball (unless the term "bush league" meant something different in 1927 than it did in succeeding years. Also note that this title card has an image of Monte Blue pumping gas into his car from a very old-fashioned gas pump! Condition: very good to fine. smudges and light stains around the edges of the card and in the white background areas; other than the above, the card is in quite nice condition!
