Carleton. Note that the "natives" in this movie look like they are almost surely white men dressed in native outfits with their skins darkened. This puzzles me, as I would have thought there was no shortage of black actors available at that time. If anyone knows why this was, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This poster was found in The Netherlands. It was created for a Dutch movie theater in 1949. Someone painted this image directly onto a piece of canvas and it was displayed at the theater. After it was displayed, the canvas was folded once in each direction, and it was stored that way until it was recently discovered (and it will need to be sent in a larger-than-normal flat package). Condition: fair to good. The painting was cut from a stretcher around the edges, so it is slightly jagged around the edges. There are some nail holes and stains around the edges (where it was likely attached to a wall). There are scuffs, smudges, and tiny dots of paper loss scattered throughout the image (look at our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition).
