Kenton Universal monster horror thriller ("All together...!"; "Frankenstein's Monster! The Wolf Man! Dracula! The Hunchback! The Mad Doctor!"; "Based on a Story by Curt Siodmak"; the sixth Universal Frankenstein movie, and this was the first "all-star" movie, with all of its best monsters brought together in a single movie!) starring Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr. (as Lawrence Talbot, the Wolfman), John Carradine (as Dracula), J. Carroll Naish (as Daniel, the hunchback), Anne Gwynne, Peter Coe, Elena Verdugo, Lionel Atwill (Atwill must have had a terrible agent that he ended up behind Peter Coe, and Elena Verdugo in the billing!), Michael Mark, Frank Reicher, Charles Wagenheim, William Edmunds, Belle Mitchell, Sig Ruman, and Glenn Strange (as "Frankenstein's monster"). At least Atwill did better than poor Glenn Strange, who played the Frankenstein monster, and didn't even receive billing! Also, is it just me, or is it the height of insensitivity that a "hunchback" was treated as a monster on a par with Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Wolf Man? Also, why in the world did Glenn Strange not get billing on the posters? NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this book was published by Philip J. Riley as one of the volumes in his Universal Filmscripts Series. Each of those books was published in a softcover edition, but each was also published in a hardcover edition limited to 100 copies, and each of those was numbered and signed by several people. This volume has been personally autographed (signed) by SIX people: Curt Siodmak, Forrest J. Ackerman, Peter Coe, Philip J. Riley, Michael D. Stein, AND Gregory Wm. Mank, and it was hand-numbered 20/100! HOWEVER, THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS BOOK, A SCIENCE FICTION AUTHOR, MADE THIS BOOK EXTRA SPECIAL BY GLUING A SIGNED 5" X 7" REPRO PHOTO OF ELENA VERDUGO TO THE INSIDE FRONT COVER (see our image), and they also attached a Spanish herald from House of Dracula to the inside back cover with stamp hinges! Our consignor purchased this book from the estate of the science fiction author who originally owned it, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity for the Elena Verdugo signed photo, so we leave it to the bidders to research whether or not they believe the Verdugo signature is authentic (the six people who originally signed the book did so as part of the limited edition, and those are surely authentic). We give the buyer of this item 30 days after the close of the auction to do any additional research on the Verdugo signature. Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note: We have 11 images of the books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 11 images are displayed above.
