An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Stock One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Shanghaied Lovers, the 1924 Roy Del Ruth Pathecomedy silent sailing romantic slapstick comedy short ("The cook was preparing a sharp answer."; produced by Mack Sennett) starring Harry Langdon, Andy Clyde, Alice Day, Kalla Pasha, and Tiny Ward NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "stock" poster created by Pathe for use by theaters showing their 1920s Mack Sennett movies. Theaters would order this
poster, which had a large blank area at bottom right. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie,
and sometimes they were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in
each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors
consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area (this poster was overprinted with the title "Shanghaied Lovers"). Note that, because this is a "stock" poster that was used for all Mack Sennett shorts, the image is NOT of any particular
Sennett comedy star, but instead is a great stone litho image of a bunch of sexy girls wearing what were then incredibly skimpy costumes! Condition: very good to fine. There is darkening in the right 60% of the bottom foldline, but otherwise, the poster is in quite nice condition, especially considering its age! Learn More about condition grades
