He is best remembered for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; awarded posthumously). Some of his other movies include: 10 Things I Hate About You, The Patriot, A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, and Brokeback Mountain (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film).
