An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this style B half-sheet (which has a completely image from other posters on this title), and the last one was 16 years ago, when it sold for $1,350! We recently auctioned a style A half-sheet, which has the same image as the title card, and it sold for $1,530!

Note that the half-sheet was folded once in each direction at one time. Because the folds are such that they have not diminished over time, AND because the poster was folded down the exact center in each direction, then we MAY fold the half-sheet prior to mailing, if it reduces shipping costs, and if you do not also purchase other half-sheets that need to be sent rolled. So it will be sent either rolled in a tube or folded in a standard flat package.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has some tiny creases on the folds. It has some creases and scuffs scattered across the center, with some light partial vertical creases from when the poster was roughly handled while it was rolled (see our image).
