An Original Vintage Program (measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/4" [17 x 23 cm]; 5 pages) (Learn More) Adolph Zukor Testimonial Dinner, the 1937 Testimonial Dinner tendered to Hungarian film mogul and founder of Paramount Pictures, Adolph Zukor, to be held on Monday evening March 29th, 1937 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York in celebration of the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary in the Motion Picture Industry. Note that Adolph Zukor was already a legend in the industry in 1937, because in 1912, he had started producing movies, and he quickly helped form the "Paramount Program" (a loose connection of independent studios) and soon after, he was able to help convince them to join into Paramount Studios (and through very clever means, he was able to become the President of the company not long after it was formed). Over the 1910s, Paramount was clearly the number one Hollywood studio, where it remained until the mid 1920s, when the newly formed MGM began to rival it! Zukor was held in such high esteem that for this 25th anniversary of his work in motion pictures, not only was a dinner held, but the programs for the dinner (which include the menu) were bound in hard covers, with an embossed image of Zukor on the front cover! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have pictured the front cover and an interior 2-page spread from this program. Condition: good. Unfortunately, the interior pages have faint brown water staining at the bottom of each page (see our images). The hard covers are not affected. Learn More about condition grades
