Date Sold 1/17/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Speak Easily, the 1932 Edward Sedgwick romantic theater stage play acting screwball comedy (a wacky comedy about a professor who inherits a lot of money and then he falls for a showgirl in a cheap show, and he buys the entire show and brings it to Broadway!) starring Buster Keaton, Jimmy Durante, Ruth Selwyn, Thelma Todd, Hedda Hopper, and Sidney Toler. Note that this movie is not that different from many other movies made at the same time, but it is distinguished by an amazing top cast, including stars that have major cult followings! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned several stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this lobby card and another lobby card, which we are auctioning in a separate auction! Note that this lobby card is from a remarkable find that was just made of extremely rare lobby cards from the very early 1930s, the kind of titles you never see! Unfortunately, all of them were in lesser condition and some in much lesser condition. We took out the best seven for individual auctions (and this is one of those), and then there are eleven incomplete sets of cards in eleven separate auctions, and finally, we made four bulk lots of the cards in the worst condition. All of these will be auctioned in our auctions that end in January, and afterwards, there will be no more cards from this remarkable find! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair to good. The card has paper loss in the top left and bottom right corners, very slightly affecting the letters, with small paper loss in the other two corners. It has darkened somewhat and has some light staining in the bottom left, likely caused from coming into contact with another card. Obviously, this incredibly rare and desirable card can be restored, but bear its condition in mind (and look at our super-sized images) before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
