An Original Vintage Linenbacked One-Sheet Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) A New Little Lulu Cartoon, the 1943 Paramount stock cartoon animation poster ("in TECHNICOLOR Produced by Famous Studios"). Note that this is a "stock" poster created by Paramount in for use for all entries of their "Little Lulu" series (from the beloved comic strip character created by Marjorie Henderson Buell; originally, she was a single panel in the Saturday Evening Post). This particular stock poster was printed in "1943" (which is printed in the bottom right corner). Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank rectangle in the bottom center. They would either be sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, and they could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one, or sometimes the studios would overprint posters with specific titles before sending them. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned four examples of this one-sheet. One of those four examples has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of four examples we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss in the left half of the middle fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. It had pinholes around the edges, with a 4" tear in the left border, extending into the first "L" of "LITTLE". Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
