Force of Evil, the classic 1948 Abraham Polonsky romantic love triangle crime film noir ("John Garfield Puts his Body and Soul into Force of Evil!"; "A New Big MGM Smash Hit!"; "Sensational story of a numbers king whose number was up!"; "John Garfield puts his body and soul into Force of Evil"; "Based upon the novel 'Tucker's People' by Ira Wolfert"; about a lawyer who wants to consolidate all of his small-time numbers racket operators into one big powerful operation, but one operator prefers to keep it small) starring John Garfield, Thomas Gomez, Marie Windsor, Beatrice Pearson (billed as "Introducing Beatrice Pearson"), Howland Chaimberlain, Roy Roberts, Tim Ryan, and Sid Tomack. Note that director Polonsky was blacklisted just as the movie was released!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, separation, and tiny paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There were some smudges, pinholes, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster, with paper loss in the left of the top border and some scattered small paper loss in the rest of the top border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, but the restorer left alone the paper loss in the top blank border, likely rightfully assuming it will not show when the poster is framed.
