Date Sold 5/5/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Howard Hawks' Monkey Business (released in some countries as "Darling I'm Growing Younger", because apparently "Monkey Business" meant nothing in other countries!), the 1952 Howard Hawks fantasy Fountain-of-Youth screwball comedy ("This is Monkey Business... And this is Monkey Business and this is Monkey Business... And of course this is Monkey Business... And thereby hangs a tale!"; "Monkey Business is some fun!"; "Story by Harry Segall"; "Screen Play by Ben Hecht, Charles Lederer and I.A.L. Diamond"; a truly wacky story of an inventor trying to find a "youth serum", and he experiments on chimps, and one of the chimps escapes and manages to create the serum, which the scientist then accidentally takes, and he becomes like a teenager, and then so does his wife!) starring Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers, Charles Coburn, Marilyn Monroe (in a small role as a sexy secretary hired by the now "youthful" Cary Grant), Hugh Marlowe, Henri Letondal, Robert Cornthwaite, Larry Keating, Douglas Spencer, Esther Dale, and George Winslow. Note that after Marilyn Monroe's great success at the start of the 1950s, 20th Century-Fox, who had her under contract, wisely found small parts for her in lots of their movies in 1951 and 1952! Also, note that there is a Marx Bros. movie from 1931 called "Monkey Business", but it has nothing to do with this movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of several British quads that were consigned to us by a man who has worked in the film industry for many years. A long time ago, he acquired these British quads when he worked with 20th Century-Fox, and he has kept them carefully stored for many years, which accounts for some of them being in wonderful condition. He previously consigned some quads two years ago, and now he has returned with a few more! Anyone who collects British quads knows how rare it is to find ones from the 1950s in any condition, and to find them in at all nice condition almost never happens. Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It has a tiny tear in the top blank border and a partial diagonal crease in the bottom right corner, a tiny tear in the top right blank corner, and very minor wear on the folds. Otherwise, the poster is in incredible condition! Learn More about condition grades
