Date Sold 11/19/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27 3/4" x 42" [70 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Die Sieben Manner Der Sumuru (released in the U.S. in 1972 as "Mothers of America"), the 1969 Jesus Franco (billed as "Jess Franco") Western German/Spanish/U.S. Rio de Janeiro Brazil science fiction (sci-fi) spy espionage fantasy action adventure sexploitation movie ("These are the future... Mothers of America"; a wacky story of a mythical all-female country called "Femina" that looks to take over the entire world!) starring Shirley Eaton (in the title role as Sumuru), Richard Wyler, George Sanders, Maria Rohm, and Herbert Fleischmann. Note that the mythical all-female country was filmed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and when the movie was released in some English-speaking countries, it was sometimes titled "The Girl from Rio", which is kind of weird, but it certainly goes with the entire movie, which is apparently pretty terrible, but absolutely enjoyable, if viewed in the right frame of mind! Also, while IMDB mentions the U.S. titles included Rio 70 & The Girl From Rio, we have only seen posters titled Mothers of America. Also, we have seen several 1972 sexploitation posters with the tagline "Gigantic Screenovision" or "Screenovision", and all have very similar designs. While none have a distributor mentioned on the poster, it has been suggested that they were distributed by Distribpix, and some may be re-titled re-releases of earlier films. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned two examples of this poster before! Also note that this one-sheet measures 27 3/4" x 42" [70 x 107 cm]. Note that in recent months we started auctioning a wonderful collection of sexploitation one-sheets that includes many extremely rare titles from a single collector. This month there are 115 different ones (all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and this consignor only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: very good. The poster is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
