An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 42" [71 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Irving Berlin's White Christmas, the classic 1954 Michael Curtiz post-World War II sisters holiday singing-and-dancing romantic musical (with classic "Lyrics and music by Irving Berlin"; "The most fabulous music-and-mirth show in motion picture history!"; "Joyous entertainment for every season, any year!!!!") starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen, and Dean Jagger. Note that this was the first motion picture to be filmed in VistaVision! Also note that the title song "White Christmas" was first introduced in 1942 in the Fred Astaire/Bing Crosby movie "Holiday Inn", and it proved to be so popular that this movie was made, utilizing part of the plot of that earlier film, and reusing this song, which was now over a decade old, but it proved to be an even greater hit! Note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 42" [71 x 107 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a large triangular area of paper loss at top center, which extended into the blue background, but fortunately, only touched a tiny bit of the top of the "S" and did not reach the star below it. Otherwise, the poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and two small V-shaped tears 4" to the left and right of the middle crossfold, with minor wear on the rest of the folds and in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed. You can see signs of the restoration in the top center blue background area, but it is not very distracting at all, and the poster displays well as it is (or certainly, additional restoration could be performed, if the new owner desired).
