An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Deluxe 7 1/2" x 9" [19 x 23 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Joseph Cotten was an actor from the 1930s to the 1980s. He often worked with Orson Welles and some of his movies include: Citizen Kane, The Third Man, Touch of Evil, Duel in the Sun, Shadow of a Doubt, and Portrait of Jenny. While he never achieved top rank fame, he did note that "Orson Welles lists Citizen Kane as his best film, Alfred Hitchcock opts for Shadow of a Doubt and Sir Carol Reed chose The Third Man - and I'm in all of them." He passed away in 1994 at the age of 88. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Joseph Cotten! Our consignor purchased this signed item from Stuart Lutz of www.HistoryDocs.com in 2013 for $157, who described it as a "probably 1940s" vintage photo signed to "the Jewish playwright Meyer Schwartz", who was best known for his 1938 Yiddish play, "Mamele", and provided our consignor with a certificate of authenticity stating all of the above. Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/2" x 9" [19 x 23 cm]. Finally, note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
