An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked International One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) a.k.a. (also known as) Cassius Clay, the 1970 Jim Jacobs boxing sports documentary (about Muhammad Ali; "Cassius Clay vs. U.S.A."; "'I'm the greatest motion picture ever made!'"; "See the punches that won the championship and the ideals that lost it!") featuring Muhammad Ali (in the title role), Cus D'Amato (Ali's longtime trainer), narrated by Richard Kiley, and archival footage of famous black African American stars and boxing greats (both black and white) including The Beatles (the rock & roll music group including John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr), Max Baer, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Malcolm X, Stepin Fetchit NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet is headlined "Cassius Clay vs. U.S.A." and that the image shows Ali standing next to an equal-sized Statue of Liberty (which has a boxing glove instead of a torch)! Also note that this is an "international" style one-sheet (meaning it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries). Note the lack of a ratings box and NSS information. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was folded in half an extra time. It had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking.
