A Place in the Sun, the classic 1951 George Stevens (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic love triangle murder melodrama ("Screenplay by Michael Wilson and Harry Brown"; "Based on the novel, An American Tragedy, by Theodore Dreiser & the Patrick Kearney play adapted from the novel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a poor man who dreams of having a relationship with a rich girl, and then it happens, but his ex-girlfriend turns up pregnant, and he considers killing her, but has a change of heart, but she dies anyway) starring Montgomery Clift (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Keefe Brasselle, Raymond Burr, and Shepperd Strudwick. Some film buffs collectively refer to Shane, Giant, and A Place in the Sun as "George Stevens' American Trilogy".

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss scattered on the vertical fold and on small parts of the horizontal folds. It had pinholes and some paper loss in the borders, with a few smudges scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
