An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4") (Learn More) The Bank Dick, the classic 1940 Edward F. Cline family relationship stock swindle bank robbery crime screwball comedy ("Original Story by Mahatma Kane Jeeves") starring W.C. Fields (as Egbert Souse), Una Merkel, Richard Purcell, Shemp Howard (as the bartender at the Black Pussy Cafe), Franklin Pangborn (as the bank examiner), Grady Sutton (as Og Oggilby), Jessie Ralph, Cora Witherspoon, Russell Hicks (as the guy who would rather sell his grandmother's paisley shawl than sell his Beefsteak Mine stock), and Al Hill (as the bank robber). Note that the "original screen play" is credited to "Mahatma Kane Jeeves", which was one of many of W.C. Fields' wacky pseudonyms! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: ARE YOU UNFAMILIAR WITH GLASS SLIDES? Many collectors are not familiar with them, because they are incredibly rare, and are rarely offered for sale. Click HERE for a brief history of what they are and what they were used for. Note that we have provided two images at right for this glass slide. The first image is a high quality scan of just the image area of the slide that shows what it looks like with light shining through it (as it was originally seen when displayed). The second image is a photograph of the entire glass slide (including either the cardboard holder or black tape around the edges, depending on the type of glass slide it is). Clicking on either image will open a new browser window with larger, high quality versions of both images. Condition: good to very good. there is a long light surface scratch that runs in the upper right of the slide from the bottom of the "D" of "FIELDS" across Fields' chest to the middle of the right border (it may be almost invisible in our scan; it is clearly noticeable when looking at the slide in person); there is some slight surface "dustiness" over much of the image area, but it disappears when you look at the slide through light (and may be easily removable); there is a white circle between the glass in the lower left corner that does not affect the image); the slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides Learn More about condition grades
