Date Sold 6/7/2012 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). Important Added Info: Note that these 8x10 stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of one of the stills. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were used in French speaking parts of Canada, but they were printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So they are original stills from 1954, but they were printed for use in parts of Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. There are some scuff marks and minor creases throughout the stills. There is a small label on the back of one of the stills but it does not appear to have any effect on the front.
