An Original Vintage Paperbacked Magazine Cover (measures 10 1/2" x 15" [27 x 38 cm]) (Learn More) Collier's ("The National Weekly"; "More than a million a week"), the magazine which was founded by Peter Collier in 1887. It was known for its investigative journalism (critics called it "muckraking"), and it remained successful all the way until 1957. In its early days it was known as Collier's Weekly, and early covers had art by name artists who signed their work. Artist: J.C. Leyendecker Important Added Info: Note that this is solely the cover of the magazine and that it has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the cover was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. Condition: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the magazine cover was folded down the middle and had a crease in the lower right border. Overall, the magazine cover was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking.
