An Art Print (signed by artist Brian Reedy; unnumbered; measures 20 1/4" x 26 3/4" [51 x 68 cm]) (Learn More) Godzilla (Gojira) is a monster (or kaiju) that first appeared in the 1954 film Godzilla. It became a worldwide pop culture icon, appearing in various media, including over 30 films produced by Toho, multiple Hollywood films and numerous video games, novels, comic books and television shows. Godzilla was originally conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons, but as the film series expanded, some stories took on less serious (and often silly) themes, portraying Godzilla as an antihero, or even a defender of humanity (who still steps on a lot of buildings). Godzilla has faced off against many monster opponents, including: King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Mothra and Gigan. Artist: Brian Reedy Important Added Info: Note that this art print has been personally autographed (signed) by Brian Reedy! This is a linocut art print set. Linocut art involves carving designs into linoleum blocks, which are then inked and pressed onto paper. This method creates distinct, textured images and allows artists to experiment with various papers, each affecting the print's final look. They are NOT printed on "regular" paper typically used for art prints, but are printed on paper such as lokta paper, or Japanese Washi paper. Please bear this in mind before bidding. Condition: very good to fine. The limited edition art print is in excellent condition, but it may have extremely minor defects, so please do not bid unless you have looked at our super-sized image and can accept this possibility.
