Date Sold 5/20/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Telegraph Trail, the 1933 Tenny Wright cowboy western starring John Wayne ("The Rough Riding Star"), Duke ("The Miracle Horse"), Frank McHugh, Marceline Day, Otis Harlan, Albert J. Smith, Yakima Canutt, Lafe McKee, and Slim Whitaker. Note that in this early movie (and in several of his other early movies), John Wayne's horse was named Duke (which was the name of Wayne's childhood dog). Of course, many years later, Wayne himself would become known as "The Duke"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that many years ago (in our wonderful John Wayne Movie Posters at Auction), we auctioned an entire first release set of these cards individually, but in the past 12 years, we have not auctioned a single first release card! Also note that there is a stamp on the back that reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Michael R. Hawks", who most would consider the premier lobby card collector and expert in the world (and he is still an active collector, looking for the last few items he needs!). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There are a few pinholes and some faint stains scattered in the blank borders. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
