Studios would send examples of their scripts to screenwriters who were members of the Motion Picture Academy, so that they would be more likely to vote for that screenplay to be nominated for the "Best Screenplay" Oscar. They would send actual photocopies of the scripts. They often say "FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION" on the front cover or on the title page, but sometimes this is not anywhere on the script (but in those cases, we still think they were sent by the studio to the screenwriting members of the Motion Picture Academy) Note that this script is one of several that was consigned to us by a man who has been a screenwriter for decades. He has sent us a collection of scripts that he accumulated over those years. Some were from projects he was working on, some were from projects he was considering working on, and some were sent to him by friends in the screenwriting community!
