An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Somebody Up There Likes Me, the 1956 Robert Wise boxing sports biography melodrama ("A Girl can lift a Fellow to the Skies!"; "M-G-M brings you every heartbeat of an amazing life story!"; "Based on the Autobiography of Rocky Graziano", from the book 'Somebody Up There Likes Me: My Life So Far' by Rocky Graziano "written with Rowland Barber"; "Another life inspired triumph from the producers of 'I'll Cry Tomorrow'") starring Paul Newman, Pier Angeli, Everett Sloane, Eileen Heckart, Sal Mineo, and Steve McQueen (uncredited in his second film role). Note that this movie was intended for James Dean, but he died prior to the start of filming, and Paul Newman took his place! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had tiny paper loss in the middle 2" of the top foldline. There was minor wear on the other folds and minor border wear.
