An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Squibs (released in the U.S. as "Me and My Gal"), the 1921 George Pearson English silent romantic comedy ("A story of life, love and laughter"; this was the first in a series of three movies with the same title character; about a Cockney flower girl whose father is a bookie and her sister loves a crook, but she falls in love with a policeman, who has difficulty with her family) starring Betty Balfour (in the title role as Squibs Hopkins), Hugh E. Wright, Fred Groves, Mary Brough, and W. Cronin Wilson. Note that this movie was remade in 1932 with Spencer Tracy and Joan Bennett. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good. There is slight smudging on the glass (it is not very distracting, and it could likely be cleaned). The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Learn More about condition grades
