Original Vintage Lobby Card (Measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

White Face, the 1932 (released in the U.S. in 1933) T. Hayes Hunter English blackmail murder mystery crime thriller ("Edgar Wallace's most popular mystery drama"; "An American adaptation of a Gainsborough picture"; "With an all star cast"; based on the play by Edgar Wallace; about a masked blackmailer and killer called "White Face", who is a master of disguise) starring Hugh Williams, Gordon Harker, Norman McKinnel, Renee Gadd, and Richard Bird. Note that Edgar Wallace was a hugely popular English author, and many of his works were adapted into English movies. But his writing was not the sort that appealed as much to American audiences, so few of the movies were adapted by American studios. But that changed in 1933 when he conceived of King Kong, and that seems likely to have been what triggered this American adaptation of his "most popular mystery drama"!
