An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Japanese Two-Panel Movie Poster (measures approximately 20" x 57") (Learn More) The Glenn Miller Story, the 1954 Anthony Mann musical Big-Band-leader-and-trombone-player romantic biography ("The story of a love that made wonderful music!"; "Their love made such wonderful music!"; "Written by Valentine Davies and Oscar Brodney") starring James Stewart (in the title role as Glenn Miller; "unforgettable as the immortal Glenn Miller"), June Allyson ("adorable as the girl he swept off her feet"), Charles Drake, George Tobias, Harry Morgan (billed as "Henry Morgan"), ("and these Musical 'Greats' as Guest Stars!") Frances Langford, Louis Armstrong, Gene Krupa, Ben Pollack, Steve Pendleton, and The Modernaires NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Japanese two-panel poster was printed in 2 sections (designed to overlap) and when combined, the poster measures approximately 20" x 57" and is linenbacked. Condition: good to very good. Both of the panels of the poster were folded at one time and there were creases along some of the folds. There was an extra horizontal fold 1/2" above the regular top horizontal fold running through the forehead of the large image of Stewart playing the trombone. There was Japanese writing on the back of the center of the poster (in the area behind the "GLENN" at center and around the Japanese characters above that), and it somewhat bled through to the front. There was an extra fold just above the regular bottom foldline, running through the middle of Stewart's jacket, and there was paper loss in that fold in the edge of Stewart's jacket and in the white background to the right of it. There was some writing on the back of the poster in that same white background area that slightly bled through to the front. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not address the slight bleed through described above (which is truly not very noticeable). Of course, any talented restorer could touch up the bleed through area without backing the poster, if the new owner of the poster thought it worth while. Learn More about condition grades
