Hart silent Alaska ship sailing romantic melodrama (from the story by C. Gardner Sullivan; about a tough sea captain who hires a brother and sister to work on his ship, and he has to protect the girl from an evil man, and he both becomes sweet on her and also becomes softer) starring William S. Hart (in the title role as Shark Monroe), Katherine MacDonald, Joseph Singleton, George A. McDaniel, and Bert Sprotte. Note that, according to a news release, Hart and his company were lost at sea for four days on their way to Alaska to film this movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a lobby card and from this movie, and NO other movie paper, until we received this card! Note that, in the early days of movie making, when lobby cards were first made (around 1915), studios would issue sets of the cards in two sizes; the regular 11" x 14" size, and a smaller 8" x 10" size. The cards were identical in every way except for the different size. This practice continued through the early 1920s, at which point the studios abandoned the smaller lobby cards, likely because theaters either ordered 11" x 14" lobby cards or 8" x 10" stills, and did not order enough of the 8" x 10" lobby cards to justify them continuing to make them.
