An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) The Brain Eaters, the 1958 Bruno Vesota science fiction (sci-fi) monster horror thriller ("Crawling, slimy things terror-bent on destroying the world!"; "Story and Screenplay by Gordon Urquhart"; note that this movie was loosely based on the novel 'The Puppet Masters' by Robert A. Heinlein, but the producers of the movie did not bother to acquire the rights to that novel in any way!; Heinlein attempted to sue AIP for this theft and he settled out of court, but because this movie was made, there was not a film adaptation of "The Puppet Masters" until decades later) starring Edwin Nelson, Joanna Lee, Alan Frost, Leonard Nimoy, Cornelius Keefe, and Jody Fair NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this 30x40 is a silkscreen printed poster with a separate color image which has neatly been "tipped in" (glued to the top of the poster). This is how almost many 30x40s were made at this time! Paper banners were also commonly made in this way at that time, and few people would realize that it is not printed on a single piece, unless they examine the poster closely. Note that the silkscreen portions of this poster usually pick up scuff marks far more easily than other posters of this period (this was caused by the method of silkscreen printing, and is very common on these posters, and is not considered a major defect, unless it is very noticeable or distracting). Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had been folded like a one-sheet and it had many creases and scuffs, and some tiny paper loss on parts of the folds, with many creases and scuffs scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
