DeMille's Union Pacific, the 1939 Cecil B. DeMille transcontinental railroad train romantic epic melodrama ("The romance of Union Pacific ...the Iron Path that joined a nation!"; "Based on an Adaptation by Jack Cunningham Of a Story by Ernest Haycox"; a highly fictionalized retelling of the building of the first transcontinental railroad) starring Barbara Stanwyck, Joel McCrea, Akim Tamiroff, Robert Preston, Lynne Overman, Brian Donlevy, Anthony Quinn, Evelyn Keyes, and Stanley Ridges NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Barbara Stanwyck! Also note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this mini window card! Note that our consignor purchased this signed mini window card directly from an auction of items from the estate of Gene Andrewski. Mr. Andrewski was a well known memorabilia collector and dealer who had many contacts with celebrities. What IS gelbacking? Learn More As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good. The top of the card was trimmed off, very slightly entering the background at the very top, and there was also some wear in the left and right borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they replaced the missing top area and performed the slight restoration needed for the defects described above, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the poster displays really well! Learn More about condition grades
