My Gal Sal, the 1942 Irving Cummings New York City songwriting romantic carnival biographical musical ("Famous songs by Paul Dresser"; based on the story by Theodore Dreiser; about a carnival worker who meets a beautiful singer from New York, and he follows her there, where he becomes a songwriter, and they have a love/hate relationship over many years) starring Rita Hayworth (in the title role as Sally Elliot), Victor Mature, John Sutton, Carole Landis, James Gleason, Phil Silvers, Walter Catlett, Mona Maris, and Frank Orth

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had many tiny staple holes around the edges, with some tiny paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
