An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Picture Snatcher, the 1933 Lloyd Bacon romantic photography crime melodrama (about an ex-convict who decides to go straight and become a photographer, but he falls in love with the daughter of the policeman who arrested him, and the cop doesn't like that, and when the photographer uses his girlfriend to get a picture of an execution, the cop is demoted, which makes matters worse) starring James Cagney, Ralph Bellamy, Patricia Ellis (17 years old in her third credited movie role!), Alice White, and Ralf Harolde NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We had never auctioned even a single movie poster or lobby card (only some stills, and NO other movie paper) from this movie until, in early 2020, we auctioned an insert, and it sold for $10,611! Now we have this wonderful lobby card (from a different consignor), which is the first lobby card we have ever auctioned! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has an unusual defect, which is much more apparent from the back of the card than from the front. It has a vertical line of slight staining and rippling 1" from the right edge of the card, and a much less noticeable (with far less rippling) down the image in the area 1" to the left of Bellamy's figure, running into the right of Cagney's legs. The card was also very slightly partially folded vertically in the same area. There was a line of scattered small surface paper loss running across the top of the image inside the picture frame, affecting the background and the top of Bellamy's hat. There are some faint smudges, stains, and slight rippling in parts of the borders, with a small tear in the top left corner and creases in the top corners. Someone chose to perform slight restoration to the surface paper loss described above (across the top of the image), but they just made it less noticeable, and did not attempt to make it invisible. The new owner of this card can either display it exactly as it is, or choose to have restoration performed, either with or without backing the card. We ask all bidders on this incredibly rare card to look closely at our super-sized images of both the front and the back of the card, to see how it displays (and see if they would be happy with it "as is" or would want restoration performed).
