An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Beyond the Blue Horizon, the 1942 Alfred Santell tropical island romantic jungle adventure melodrama (sort of "Tarzan" in reverse, where a girl is shipwrecked on a tropical island, and her parents are killed, so she grows up alone in an island jungle, and she is rescued, and no one believes her, so she leads an expedition back to the island to prove her story) starring Dorothy Lamour, Richard Denning, Jack Haley, Patricia Morison, Walter Abel, Helen Gilbert, Elizabeth Patterson, and Gogo (the chimpanzee!). Note that Dorothy Lamour wore her trademark sarong in this movie! Also note that there is a scene in the movie where Richard Denning lures a rampaging elephant to the edge of a cliff, and then he swings on a vine, and the elephant follows him, and plunges to its death. Apparently, a lot of children were taken to this movie and were traumatized by that scene! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had many tears and areas of paper loss scattered down the vertical foldline, with a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds. There were pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
