Date Sold 6/3/2018 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 99 unfolded Procter & Gamble 18 1/2" x 22 3/4" special posters from Star Wars (now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope"), the classic 1977 George Lucas (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) outer space fantasy action adventure science fiction (sci-fi) epic ("A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away."; "George Lucas, the man who brought you American Graffiti now brings you an adventure as big as the cosmos itself: Star Wars, the story of a boy, a girl, and a universe. It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen). IMPORTANT! The lot contains 99 posters (33 identical examples of 3 different posters), so we have only pictured one of each style, but the winner of this auction receives all 99 posters, in the original box! FINALLY, OUR CONSIGNOR HAD ANOTHER BOX OF THESE, THAT WERE IN ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME CONDITION AS THE ONES IN THIS BOX. WE AUCTIONED THAT BOX, AND IT SOLD FOR $240. NOW WE ARE AUCTIONING THIS SECOND BOX (and that is what the winner of this auction will receive). THIS IS THE LAST BOX OUR CONSIGNOR HAS (he had two originally, we auctioned one, and now we are auctioning the last one). Measurements: 18 1/2" x 22 3/4"Condition: good. We have only pictured one of each style of the posters, but all 99 are in similar condition. The posters had some exposure to moisture, and they are now lightly rippled in various places. They are not stuck together, and the rippling is not terribly distracting, but it definitely is a real defect, so do not bid on this unless you can accept the rippling that is scattered throughout the posters. The posters are inside their original shipping carton from Procter & Gamble (see our image). Also, it must ship in a large oversized carton that measures approximately 20" x 25", and it is heavy, so bear that expense in mind as well.
