An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 16 3/4") (Learn More)

Pride and Prejudice, the 1940 Robert Z. Leonard England family relationship romantic marriage melodrama ("Tsk! Tsk! Mr. Chips' wife is in love with Rebecca's husband!"; "When pretty girls T-E-A-S-E-D men into marriage!"; "One of the most famous novels! One of the most famous plays! And now... One of the most famous pictures ever filmed!!!"; "Screen play by Aldous Huxley and Jane Murfin"; based on the novel by Jane Austen; about five single sisters, all looking to find "suitable" husbands) starring Greer Garson (as Elizabeth Bennet), Laurence Olivier (as Mr. Darcy), Mary Boland, Edna May Oliver, Maureen O'Sullivan, Ann Rutherford, Frieda Inescort, Edward Ashley, Marten Lamont, E.E. Clive, Marjorie Wood, Karen Morley, and Edmund Gwenn. Note that Aldous Huxley is of course best known for his dystopian novel "Brave New World", but he also made a substantial income as a Hollywood screenwriter!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this window card has been trimmed and now measures 14" x 16 3/4".

Condition: fair. Note that the card measures very slightly under 14" wide and has next-to-no left, right, or bottom blank borders, but it has NOT been trimmed (this was done at a time when MGM was experimenting with having as few borders as possible). The card was roughly folded across the original middle. It was glued to a backing board and removed, and there are glue stains over the entire back of the card, and that has unevenly darkened the front of the card. The card is in urgent need of expert professional restoration. Please do not bid on it unless you have carefully studied our super-sized image, and can either accept the card's many defects or be willing to pay to have them properly restored.
