8 1951 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the classic 1937 David Hand Walt Disney animated animation family romantic fairy-tale fantasy musical cartoon ("His first full length feature production"; "In the Marvelous Multiplane Technicolor"; "Behold The Miracle of the Movies! Coming to amaze you, charm you, thrill you!"; "With Eight new songs as catching as 'The Big Bad Wolf.'"; "To thrill you"; "Merriment!"; "Melody!"; "Magic!"; "The dwarfs sing their marching song on the way to work."; "Walt Disney's first full length feature production"; "The show sensation of the generation!"; "Wondrously filmed in all the glories of the marvelous multiplane Technicolor"; "The Screen's Supreme Thrill! 1,000 artists worked three years to give you this once-in-a-lifetime show!... A full hour and a half of the most enthralling entertainment you ever experienced... truly the miracle in motion pictures!") featuring the voices of Adriana Caselotti (in the title role as Snow White), Harry Stockwell (as the Prince), Lucille La Verne, Moroni Olsen, and Stuart Buchanan. Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct).

Important Added Info: Note that lobby cards from this 1951 re-release of "Snow White" are extremely rare, likely far more rare than those from the first release (there was also a 1943 re-release, and those cards are quite rare, but these cards seem to be even more rare). In all our years of auctioning, we had only auctioned a total of 11 of these cards, and never a complete set until July 2015, when we were consigned a complete set, and it auctioned for $2,311! Now, someone who saw that result has consigned a different set of these cards, and these are in slightly lesser condition than those, but they are still wonderful! One would surely think that far fewer theaters showed this movie in 1951 than showed it in 1937, which would likely help account for the rarity. Also note that the scenes from 1951 include some different ones from those of 1937 and 1943, including a wonderful close up of Snow White and The Prince, with the dwarfs rejoicing by them!

Condition: good to very good. The card with the Prince holding Snow White appears to have been displayed, as the reds in it have slightly faded throughout, but it still displays well (see our image). The card with Snow White waking up in bed to see the dwarfs has light brown stains in the center of the top blank border. Two of the cards have tack holes and stains in the corners, with brown tape stains in the corners where there was tape on the back of each corner (apparently they were attached to a mat). The card with the dwarfs around Dopey with a lump on his head has a tack hole and a stain in the center of the top blank border, with a small tear to the right of it. The rest of the cards have some pretty minor border wear. Please look closely at our super-sized images before placing a bid on this wonderful set of lobby cards.
